The HFOT subgroup promotes the understanding and practical application of Human Factors in flight operations and training across aerospace. It brings together global expertise from operational, training, academic, engineering and regulatory backgrounds to address current and emerging Human Factors challenges in civil, military, crewed and uncrewed, space and other developing aviation domains.
The subgroup is focused on producing useful, evidence-informed outputs rather than acting as a discussion forum. Its work includes exploring cross-industry learning, emerging technology and its integration with humans (e.g. AI and automation), training effectiveness, and the evolving nature of safety and risk. Through papers, events, webinars, and collaboration with other Specialist Groups, HFOT aims to inform practice and contribute positively to the future of aerospace operations and training.
