HF Video Library (the Library) Background The shortage of suitable training resources, particularly videos, is a significant obstacle to aircrew and other HF training provision. The Video Library exists to develop and share resources and expertise needed to address this bottleneck.
The Library is a co-operative aviation industry project to make available training resources which may be useful or inspirational to professional trainers, researchers and training developers.
The library consists of three parts: 1. The Resource Bibliography: a comprehensive list of holdings and related information including title, source, author, topic, target audience, IP status, date of issue, run time, original format and searchable keywords. 2. The sample collection: All resources have short representative segments extracted and posted on Youtube. These are private and individually accessible only by members authorized by the Librarian to view a specific segment. 3. The DVD library: Any library member may order DVD copies of specific resources by recorded delivery post. The member acquires a non-transferrable personal license to view and use the resource for aviation training purposes, subject to NDA. Copyright in the resource content remains with the IP holder. Copyright in the DVD remains with the Video Library. All rights are reserved in the United Kingdom and internationally.
Membership Membership is by request. Please send a message to admin [at] raes-hfg.com giving your HF training, development or research background and interests in video resources. You will in return need to complete a Non-Disclosure agreement (NDA) and Disclaimer to show that you understand and accept that library material is not warranted as suitable for training or any other end use. The Library consists of items and footage made available strictly as received, without any significant editing or (re)titling.
Costs Library resources are made available on DVD only. The fee, provisionally set at £25, covers order administration costs, P&P, segment editing and library overheads and development. In exchange, the member acquires a non-transferrable personal license to view and use the resource for aviation training purposes, subject to the NDA and general conditions of use.
Resources which are held only on VCR tape can be converted to DVD for an additional one-off amount, provisionally set at £20.
To encourage library development, those contributing a resource may claim an equivalent resource free, without the usual administrative charges. |
