Mitigating Human Error
15 October 2003
A Conference Presented by the Human Factors Group of the Royal Aeronautical Society
Papers and Materials on Error Mitigation
The programme for this Aeronautical Society Centennial Conference celebrates the progress that has been made bringing understanding to the arena of human error during the first century of powered flight and the extent to which it has been mitigated through research and the practical application of human factor principles.
The speakers identify future challenges within the aerospace context. In particular, there will be a highly topical examination of the LOSA/CRM options available in the flight operations regime.
This conference should appeal to managers, regulators, trainers, researchers and practitioners in both civil and military aviation. The topic is also relevant to safety-critical industries such as rail and maritime transport, offshore exploration, energy generation, medicine and nuclear power, in which human error can have a disastrous impact on operations and for which aviation can offer valuable experiences and lessons.
