SummaryIn response to feedback from our previous conference held in 2009, and in the light of a recent study carried out by the Human Factors Standing Groups in relation to the Helios accident, the Cabin Crew Standing Group are hosting a conference which should be of interest to all those involved in Human Factors training and development of both flight crew and cabin crew.
The morning session will consist of presentations from industry and military personnel followed by question and answer sessions and the afternoon session will consist of various workshops involving in-flight medical incidents and the assessment of non-technical skills.
Aim To increase awareness of benefits to be gained from development of non-technical skills in the cabin, by gathering information from a wide range of experts in specialist aviation medicine and considering lessons learned from the Helios report including the physiological and medical aspects.
Objectives To investigate the "operational changes" resulting from the report findings. To discuss what we know and what should we know about Hypoxia and how to implement this into effective training sessions To debate the benefits of integrating Non-Technical skills training into First Aid Training. To improve performance in the area of "Medical Emergencies"
